In our ongoing work to make Sky Player the best possible Video On Demand service, we have to undertake some necessary maintenance work in the early hours of tomorrow morning - Tuesday 24th November 2009.

From midnight tonight until 02.30 anyone registering for the first time on Sky Player will be unable to login until this work has been completed.

Those users already logged in will be able to use the service as normal and should experience no disruption....

Since experiencing technical issues arising from last week's unprecedented demand for the service, we have been implementing a gradual rollout of Sky Player on Xbox 360. As of today, 100% of the Xbox base can access Sky Player, and tens of thousands of new users are accessing the service daily.

The quality of the service remains of the utmost importance to both Sky and Xbox, and as such we will run further testing over the weekend and continue to monitor the service closely....

As you may know, we have been experiencing some technical issues with the Sky Player on Xbox 360 since launch last Tuesday morning. It is important to both Sky and Xbox that we give customers as much information as possible about why the service is not currently available to everyone, and when we expect this to be resolved.

Sky Player on Xbox 360 launched last Tuesday morning and was met with phenomenal demand, with many tens of thousands of customers attempting to sign-up within the first hour of launch.
